    Tras solicitar a través de una iniciativa de José Torán, el reingreso de España en la Comisión Internacional de Grandes Presas (ICOLD), un grupo de ingenieros españoles se desplazó al Congreso de París de 1955, constituyó inmediatamente el Comité Español e inició así una larga y fructífera actividad de la ingeniería de presas española que ha extendido las muestras de su capacidad por toda la geografía mundial. El artículo que recogemos a continuación es la historia de ese Comité hasta 1998, escrito por uno de sus miembros principales.

    After requesting the reinstatement of Spain in the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), on the initiative of José Toran, a group of Spanish engineers attended the Paris Congress in 1955 and immediately established the Spanish Committee. This then saw the beginning of the long and fruitful activity of Spanish dam engineering which has long since shown its capacity all over the world. The article included below is the history of this committee up to 1998 written by one of its leading members.
