Tras analizar los avatares de la política hidráulica que dieron lugar, en 1933, a la incorporación de España a la Comisión Internacional de Grandes Presas, se da cuenta de la O. M, desconocida hasta ahora, por la que se creó el Comité Español en 1951. Se estudian las actividades del Comité y de sus hombres entre 1955 y 1973 y su contribución a la presencia de la técnica española de presas en los Congresos Internacionales. Se destaca la figura de José Torán y su labor al frente del Comité Español y de la Comisión Internacional de Grandes Presas.

After considering the fluctuating development of water policy which gave rise to the incorporation of Spain within the International Commission of Large Dams in 1933, the article goes on to describe a previously undisclosed Ministerial Order that led to the creation of the Spanish Committee in 1951. The author examines the activities of the committee and its members between 1955 and 1973 and its contribution to the presence of Spanish dam technology in international conferences. Particular reference is made to José Torán and his work at the forefront of the Spanish Committee and the International Commission of Large Dams.
