Este estudio utiliza como fuente principal el manuscrito que contiene la Historia del Colegio de Carmona (Agosto de 1620 a 1754) escrita por el Padre Juan Bautista de Algaba. Esta casa se funda en 1619 y deja de funcionar en 1767, como consecuencia de la expulsión de los jesuitas de España. La investigación reconstruye la historia del colegio y la actuación de los padres jesuitas en esta ciudad. Las actividades sociales, culturales y religiosas de los miembros de la Compañía constituyeron un cambio en la vida de los carmonenses. Desde el principio estos centros alcanzaron un notable éxito y llegaron a ser uno de los exponentes de más influencia en el espíritu de la reforma católica.

This research use like principal source the manuscript that contained the College Carmona�s History (August, from 1620 to 1754) wrote by the Father Juan Bautista de Algaba. This house is found in 1619 and stops to work in 1767, like consequence of the Jesuit�s expulsion of Spain. The investigation reconstructs the college�s history and the actions of the Jesuit�s Fathers in this city. The social, cultural and religious activities of the company�s members are a change in the life of carmonenses. From the beginning this centres attains a notable exit and they were one of the exponents more influential in the spirit of the Catholic�s reform.
