Resumen de La relación entre la heterogeneidad de los equipos de trabajo y su rendimiento: revisión y propuestas

  La creciente importancia de los equipos dentro de las organizaciones ha provocado que en los últimos años se hayan incrementado sustancialmente las investigaciones encargadas de analizar el efecto de la heterogeneidad de los miembros sobre el rendimiento del equipo. Los resultados de estas investigaciones han sido hasta la fecha muy poco definitivos (e incluso contrapuestos). El hecho de que la heterogeneidad haya mostrado tener tanto efectos positivos como negativos sobre el rendimiento, que dichos efectos puedan depender del tipo de heterogeneidad y que existan distintas variables que intermedien la relación, pueden contribuir a entender la complejidad de la realización de investigaciones en este ámbito. Nuestro objetivo en este trabajo es resaltar las principales aportaciones realizadas hasta la actualidad, analizar y clarificar las diferencias existentes entre los desarrollos realizados y destacar algunos aspectos relevantes para hacer algunas propuestas de cara a la realización de futuras investigaciones.

  The increasing importance of the teams inside the organizations has led to the emergence of many works trying to analyze the effect of the heterogeneity on the team performance. However, so far, all these works have not been able to show definitive conclusion, with mix and opposed results. The fact that the heterogeneity has showed both positive and negative effects on the performance, that these effects may depend on the type of heterogeneity and that exist different variables which act as mediators in this relation contribute to understand the complexity of doing research in this subject. Our aim in this paper is to enhance the main contribution until now, to analyze and clear the differences between the different works, and to emphasize some important aspects and propositions to the realization of future research.
