    On second thought, the Fifth Republic has never really changed and it is very unlikely it will ever do. Only styles vary, while the fundamental elements remain static, so much so that those who try to side-step them are rapidly called to attention. In short, the unchanging Fifth Republic is stronger than those who make it.

    À bien y réfléchir, la Ve République n’a jamais véritablement changé et il est peu probable qu’elle le fasse jamais. Seuls les styles varient tandis que les éléments fondamentaux demeurent inchangés, au point même qu’y sont rapidement rappelés ceux qui prétendent s’en affranchir. Bref, la Ve République, immuable, est plus forte que ceux qui la font vivre.
