Felipe Arturo Ávila Espinosa analyzes the historiographic work of three authors who despite their different ideological formation were active participants in the Mexican Revolution: the zapatist Gildardo Magaña; the carrancist Juan Barragán, and the villist Federico Cervantes. These intellectuals had as a purpose to justify the motives and the caudillos they represented.
