    Jean Meyer enumera algunas acciones emprendidas por los cristeros en el estado de Colima y advierte que, aun cuando éstos dominaron gran parte del territorio, jamás lograron ocupar Manzanillo, pues sus enemigos no sólo eran agraristas impulsados por el gobierno, sino, también, católicos y hacendados. El autor, quien caracteriza cómo es una guerra civil, explica la composición social de los cristeros e incorpora documentos, bibliografía, hemerografía y testimonios sobre la Cristiada

    Jean Meyer mentions some actions begun by the cristeros in the state of Colima, and observes that even though they dominated great part of the territory, they never managed to occupy Manzanillo, because their enemies were agrarians supported by the government, catholics, and hacendados. The author, who characterizes how a civil war is, explains the social composition of the cristeros and attaches documents, bibliography, hemerography and testimonies about the Cristiada.
