Rosaura Hernández Rodríguez estudia la importancia que se le dio al indio durante la Intervención Francesa. Analiza la participación de la Junta Protectora de las Clases Menesterosas como la instancia encargada de promulgar leyes cuyo objetivo era integrar al indio en la economía nacional y en el modelo educativo. La autora señala que este proyecto traería como consecuencia la homogeneización de la cultura mexicana y una verdadera nacionalización. Rosaura Hernández Rodríguez studies the importance given to the indians during the French Intervention. Analyzes the participation of the Junta Protectora de las Clases Menesterosas (Protective Council for the Needy Classes) as the organ in charge of proclaiming laws with the object of integrating the indians to the national economy and in the educative model.
