En tot un seguit d'articles publicats els darrers anys hem estudiat la filosofia educativa de l'Índia en termes d'educació mística. En un article publicat l'any passat, vàrem examinar l'educació des de la mística i la saviesa a la Grècia antiga. En l'article que es presentem, es vol seguir l'evolució de l'educació europea al llarg dels segles per tal de comprendre el naixement de l'educació moderna, tan diferent de la paideia grega o de l'educació índia. D'alguna manera, l'educació moderna ha capgirat l'ideal socràtic o platònic o el model upanishàdic. Veiem com es produeix aquest capgirament en la història del nostre continent.

In a series of articles published in the last few years, we have studied the educational philosophy in India in terms of mystical education.
In an article published last year, we examined education from mysticism and wisdom in ancient Greece. In this current article, we would like to follow the evolution of European education throughout the centuries in order to understand the birth of modern education, so different from Greek Paideia or Indian education.
Somehow, modern education has turned the Socratic or Platonic ideal or the Upanishad model round. We observe how this shift takes place in the history of our continent.
