El mapa político latinoamericano, a medida que se ha ido 'modernizando', nos ofrece un curioso cambio en la condición del dictador. Poco a poco las tomas de posición abiertamente antidemocráticas han cedido lugar a cierto tipo de gobernantes que opera bajo el imperativo dictatorial, enmascarados en corrupción institucional a distintos niveles. La ambición de perpetuarse en el poder funciona como un círculo vicioso: abandonarlo significaría un ajuste de cuentas con respecto a una gestión corrupta. El presente artículo contempla y describe dicho estado de cosas, pero sobre todo intenta profundizar en las causas que fomentan el fenómeno de la impunidad con respecto a este nuevo perfil del dictador latinoamericano

The Latin American political map, as it has been evolving, ofiFers US a curious change in the dictator's condition. Little by little, the openly anti democratic position has given rise to certain types of leaders that opérate under the dictatorial regime masked in several levéis of the institutional corruption. The ambition to remain in power acts as a vicious cycle: to abandon this would imply settling scores with a corrupt administration. The present arricie shows and demonstrares this state of things, but overall, it tries to deepen the causes that promote the impunity phenomenon with respect to the new profile of the Latin American dictator
