The inmigration process in Spain has been developing in very explosive way during the last years. The city of Seville has been involved in this process, becoming an important center of foreign population attraction. In this movement, the group of Ecuatorians has been the pioneer and they still represent the majority. In this study we try to explain this population arrival process and its settlement in the city of Seville. We analyze the causes of migration, its evolution in time, the demographic characteristics of these groups and the settlement patterns in the city. This article is part of a resarch project founded by the R&D National Plan of Spain, that studies the specific problems of the territorial occupation by the foreign population and the foundation of inmigrant neighbourhoods.
