    En este artículo se analizan diversos documentos y declaraciones internacionales que han estudiado la interacción de género e investigación científica, con el fin de conseguir que los sistemas de investigación, desarrollo e innovación sean universales. Asimismo, se examina la situación actual en España, donde se detecta una fuerte resistencia a la incorporación de las mujeres en el Sistema de Ciencia y Tecnología. Para solucionar los retos a los que se enfrenta el siglo XXI y alcanzar la excelencia en el ámbito de la ciencia y tecnología es imprescindible el desarrollo de políticas que garanticen la igualdad entre los sexos, a fin de que nuestros recursos humanos sean los mejores.

    In this paper documents and international declarations are analyzed that have studied the interaction between gender and scientific research, with the purpose of to obtain the universality of research, development and innovation systems (R&D$I systems). Also, the present situation in Spain is examined, where it is detected a strong resistance to the incorporation of the women in the System of Science and Technology. In order to solve the challenges to which the 21st century faces and to reach the excellence in the scope of science and technology it is esential the development of policies that guarantee the equality between sexes, in order that our human resources are the best ones.
