Resumen de El hispanismo francés: sólo algunas reflexiones

El hispanismo francés no es el único hispanismo, pero sí el más significativo desde el punto de vista historiográfico. Esto se debe no sólo a su larga trayectoria y a la importancia de sus protagonistas, sino al hecho de que las corrientes historiográficas francesas fueron una referencia fundamental de la historiografía española de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.
Desde hace unos años, se han producido cambios significativos que han tenido como consecuencia una pérdida de fuerza del hispanismo, al menos en sectores de la investigación tan importantes como la economía y la sociedad; esos cambios afectan a la historiografía francesa -en especial, la pérdida de influencia de la escuela de Annales y la crisis del idioma francés- pero también a la historiografía española, que ha crecido en importancia y calidad y que actualmente tiene una presencia creciente en el contexto internacional. En este artículo se analizan la evolución y componentes tanto de la fase de máxima influencia del hispanismo francés como las causas de la disminución de esa influencia.

Although there are others, French Hispanism is the most significant from a historiographic point of view. Not only because of its long history and the importance of its main figures, but also due to the fact that French historiographic trends were fundamental referents for Spanish historiography in the second half of the 20th century.
Hispanism has lost momentum in the last few years, at least in important research areas such as the economy and society, as a result of some relevant changes affecting French historiography -in particular, the loss of influence of the Annales school and the crisis of the French language- but also in relation to Spanish historiography, which has gained importance and quality, and is increasing its presence in the international scene. The article analyses the evolution and the elements intervening in the period of maximum influence of French Hispanism, as well as the causes of its diminishing influence.
