    Durante el Primer Gobierno Regular de Franco aparece perfilado el substrato ideológico que sirvió de base para el nacionalismo musical característico de la década de los cuarenta. Sus planteamientos se corresponden con los de los grupos que propiciaron la sublevación de julio del 36, que postulaban la vuelta a los valores tradicionales teológicos de los siglos XVI y XVII y el rechazo del movimiento intelectual español y europeo. Paralelamente, el Primer Gobierno Regular capitaliza la figura de Falla con finalidad propagandística y de prestigio en el marco de las instituciones culturales emblemáticas del nuevo estado.

    During the First Regular Government of Franco began to take shape an ideological substructure that served as the basis of the musical nationalism characteristic of the decade of the forties. Its goals corresponded with those of the groups that had advanced the revolt of 1936, which had postulated a return to the theological values of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and a rejection of the Spanish and European intellectual movements. At the same time, the First Regular Government capitalized on the figure of Falla for propagandistic purposes and ends of prestige within the frame of the emblematic cultural institutions of the new state.
