Entre lenguas: territorio de fantasía

    El artículo parte de la relevancia que la lengua tiene como elemento de análisis y debate en distintos ámbitos académicos, y como origen de diversos fenómenos identitarios, culturales, etc ... Desde este planteamiento el documento persigue dos tareas: por una parte, examinar los que considero elementos emergentes de una nueva identidad lingüística de Euskal Herria. Por otra parte, contribuir al análisis crítico de algunas de las visiones desarrolladas en este mismo contexto alrededor de la lengua. A la hora de analizar los cambios acontecidos en torno a la identidad lingüística me apoyo en el estudio de un aspecto concreto: el espacio (lingüístico). En este análisis, parto de la hipótesis de un movimiento simultáneo que describe una progresiva segmentación de la identidad lingüística del individuo (en alusión a los modos que éste tiene de aprender, usar y vivir la lengua) y un avance hacia una paulatina articulación/conexión del espacio lingüístico (relativo a la planificación lingüística y a la actividad simbólica). La lengua cobraría una importancia significativa como elemento nodal de la sociedad vasca, al tiempo que se estaría produciendo una diversificación en las formas de entenderla y apropiarse de ella.

    Hizkuntzak arlo akademiko batzutan analisi eta eztabaidarako duen garrantzia, eta identitate eta kultura fenomeno ezberdinekin duen lotura da artikulu honen abiapuntua. Ikuspuntu horretatik, testuak bi helburu nagusi ditu: batetik, Euskal Herrian sortzen ari den hizkuntz identitate berriaren elementuen azterketa egitea. Bestetik, testuinguru berdinean hizkuntzaren inguruan sortutako hainbat ikuspegiren analisi kritikoa bultzatzea. Hizkuntz identitatearen inguruan izandako aldaketen analisiari ekiteko garaian, ikerketa alderdi zehatz batetik abiatzen da: hizkuntz espazioaren azterketatik, hain zuzen ere. Ikuspegi horri eutsiz erabiltzen dugun hipotesiak hizkuntz identitatea mugimendu bikoitz eta paralelo batean kokatuko luke. Hizkuntz identitatea (gizakiek hizkuntz ezagutza, erabilera eta motibazioa garatzeko dituzten moduak) segmentazio prozesu batean murgildua egoteaz gain, gizakiak bizi duen hizkuntz espazioa (hizkuntz planifikazioa, nahiz hizkuntz sinbologiari dagokion espazioa) artikulazio eta loturaruntz doa. Horren ondorioz, hizkuntza euskal gizartearen erdigunean kokatuko litzateke, hizkuntza bera ulertzeko, eta erabiltzeko erak dibertsifikatze prozesu batean murgilduak baldin badira ere.

    The article takes as standpoint the relevance that language has as element of analysis and debate around different academic spheres, and as origin of diverse cultural and identity phenomena. From this starting point the text has two main aims: on the one hand, to look at the elements which arisen from a new language identity at the Basque Country; on the other hand, to develop a critical point of view over some of the current analysis usually made -in the same context- around the language. In order to analyze the changes happened around the linguistic identity I set my research in a specific aspect, this is, the linguistic space. In my study I develop the next hypothesis: it should be happening a double and simultaneous movement around the individual linguistic identity. On the one hand we assist to the segmentation and fragmentation of the individual linguistic identity and the way in which he/she learns, uses and feels the language. On the other hand, we can see the progressive articulation between splited language spaces, turning all of them through a real, symbolic or metaphorical connection. In this context the language appears as a core element at the Basque society which -at the same time allows a big diversity of patterns to understand, life and practice it.
