    Este trabajo se centra en el aspecto urbanístico del estudio de las villas de Bizkaia a finales de la Edad Media. Para ello nos hemos basado en las fuentes publicadas, cada vez más abundantes afortunadamente, en la bibliografía existente sobre el tema y en el aporte arqueológico, instrumento este esencial para ahondar en este como en muchos otros temas de la Edad Media.

    Lan hau, Bizkaiko herrietako hirigintz aspektuan Erdi Aroko amaieran kokatzen da. Lana burutzeko onarritu gara, batez ere, hiru iturrietan: dokumento argitaratuetan, gaiari buruz dagoen liburuetan eta arkeologian, pentatzen azken hau gai honetan zein beste askoetan gure ezaguera sakontzeko funtzeskoa dela.

    This work is centered on the urbanistic aspect of the study of the towns in Biscay in the late Middle Ages. To do it we have used mainly published documents, fortunately more and more abundant, the bibliography on the subject and the contributions of archeology, fundamental instrument to deepen our knowledge in this field as well as in many others concerning the Middle Ages.
