El estado en la definición territorial de la Argentina del siglo XIX: construcciones legales, cuadrícula territorial y urbanística en la frontera de la provincia de Buenos Aires al sur del río Salado

    Este artículo se propone indagar en la construcción de la matriz territorial móvil y compleja sobre la que se han ido constituyendo los pueblos y la ciudad moderna argentina. En ese sentido, se invierte la dirección de análisis ciudad-territorio para trabajar en el eje territorio-ciudad.

    Se plantea la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cómo operó el Estado como regulador en la definición territorial? En ese marco, y considerando a la cuestión frontera como constitutiva del problema, se desarrolla la incidencia de las emergentes estructuras jurídico-políticas y legales en la construcción del territorio moderno y la fundación de pueblos entre mediados del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX.

    Se focaliza el análisis en la provincia de Buenos Aires, espacio considerado como laboratorio, pionero de las primeras experiencias que luego se extenderán al resto del país con los nuevos territorios nacionales en la expansión de la frontera.

    The State�s role in the territorial definition of 19th Century Argentina: Legal constructions and the territorial and urbanistic framework on the boundary of the province of Buenos Aires to the south of the River Salado.

    This article seeks to investigate the construction of the mobile and complex territorial matrix, upon which the towns and cities of modern-day Argentina have been developed. In this sense, the analysis from the city and wider-territory approach has been inverted to undertake the study from a wider-territory and city approach.

    The principal question to be answered is how the State operated as a regulator in defining the territory. In that context, and considering the border question as constituting the problem, the impact of the emerging juridical- political and legal structures in the construction of the modern territory and the foundation of the towns, between the mid-19th and early-20th Centuries, was developed. The analysis is based on the province of Buenos Aires, a space considered to be a laboratory and pioneer in the first experiences that in turn would extend to the rest of the country with the new national territories resulting from the expansion of the border.
