    This text has as objective to understand the differences between the social ethics of Luther and the conceptions on the protestant ethics developed by Max Weber.

    The lutheran social ethics do not enroll in the religious ascetism of the pietism and in the ethical vision of the calvinist protestantism of the analysis of Max Weber on the protestant ethics. The thesis of Weber does not allow to credit to the social ethics of Luther bonds with the spirit of the development of the capitalism. The proper Weber, in moment, believes that the spirit of the capitalism if must the influences of the Reformation Lutheran or that the capitalism as system is a product of the Reformation. Therefore, a conception of lutheran ethics, established in the social ethics of Luther, remains as important instrument of critical in a society in which the human being comes losing its ethical referent and its citizencommunitarian base for the absence of the practical learning of these values, for being it delivers to the individualism and the process of coisificação accomplished for the industrial capitalism and its current marketing face that an limited citizenship imposes the majority of the population of the planet, lead for those that they control the economy and the politics (the money and the power) and for the ethics of the market.

    Este texto tem como objetivo entender as diferenças entre a ética social de Lutero e as concepções sobre a ética protestante desenvolvidas por Max Weber. A ética social luterana não se inscreve no ascetismo religioso do pietismo e na visão ética do protestantismo calvinista da análise de Max Weber sobre a ética protestante. A tese de Weber não permite creditar à ética social de Lutero vínculos com o espírito do desenvolvimento do capitalismo. O próprio Weber, em nenhum momento, acredita que o espírito do capitalismo se deva a influências da Reforma Luterana ou que o capitalismo como sistema seja um produto da Reforma. Por isso, uma concepção de ética luterana, fundada na ética social de Lutero, permanece como instrumento importante de crítica numa sociedade na qual o ser humano vem perdendo os seus referenciais éticos e a sua base cidadã-comunitária pela ausência da aprendizagem prática destes valores, por estar entregue ao individualismo e ao processo de coisificação efetivado pelo capitalismo industrial e a sua face mercadológica atual que impõe uma cidadania limitada a maioria da população do planeta, conduzido por aqueles que controlam a economia e a política (o dinheiro e o poder) e pela ética do mercado.
