  • A more accurate interpretation of the Bible, Assyrian epigraphic sources and archaeological data as well as new finds have allowed us to confirm that the biblical Tarsis and the country of Tarsisi cited by the Assyrian epigraphy are one and the same place. These new data disprove the traditional attempts to locate Tarsis in the Southwest of the Iberian peninsula and its identification with Tartessos.
