Resumen de Ajuste de cuentas: la Escuela en el cine español

En este artículo, la autora hace una revisión de la aparición de la Escuela y sus características en el cine español. Hace un análisis de diversos filmes, describiendo las características de profesores, alumnos y entornos representados. Da cuenta de los diferentes niveles educativos en que se desarrollan las acciones y trata las diferencias por género que aparecen en los filmes y la participación de los maestros y maestras en la vida de la escuela. Como conclusión, plantea que la Escuela no es un tema interesante para el cine español y que su aparición bien podría catalogarse de ajuste de cuentas, ante lo cual sugiere que los maestros también tendrían derecho a pedir cuentas al cine por el tratamiento recibido tanto en los filmes mismos como en la propia sociedad.

This article examines the appearance of the School and its characteristics in the Spanish cinema. An analysis of several films is carried out, describing the characteristics of teachers, pupils and represented environments. It deals with the different educational levels involved, genre differences appearing in the films and the male and female primary teachers' participation in the life of the school. As a conclusion, it is argued that the School is not an interesting topic for the Spanish cinema and that its appearance might well be described as "settling accounts", which suggests that teachers would also have the right to ask the cinema industry to be "accountable" to them for the treatment received so much in films as in society.
