The author accepts the survival of Ancient Greek Historiography in Byzantium, but not the one of the Classical period; he actualy thinks that the Greek historians who influenced the Byzantines were authors of the Roman period like Arrian and Herodian, who stress the role of the monarch like Byzantine historians do.
