Resumen de Miradas sobre el matrimonio en la España del siglo XVIII

  La evolución del matrimonio ha generado modelos temporales conforme al ideario de cada época. Así, el modelo de matrimonio de libre elección o por amor con sus enlaces clandestinos sin el consentimiento paterno, es rechazado por el absolutismo que, con la aquiescencia de la Iglesia, intenta impedir las uniones desiguales mediante la promulgación de la Pragmática Sanción de 1776. A finales del siglo XVIII la red estratégica del matrimonio ventajoso se fisura a causa de las uniones libres de pactos familiares; y, por consiguiente, se inicia la gestación de un nuevo modelo matrimonial precursor del romántico decimonónico como una vindicación rompedora del orden estamental. Otras miradas contemplarán el discurso matrimonial finisecular de la Iglesia mediante un análisis en el modelo matrimonial ilustrado, visto desde una perspectiva androcrática.
