  • Resumen
    • The shortage of historical written sources(fountains) that they name to Davalillos de San Asensio fortress (La Rioja), as well as the absence of archaeological interventions, have plunged this build out of the historical memories since it was left by his last occupants. The present study tries to throw some light to the history of this singular fortification, across the different defensive elements and the architectural variations that were applying to, up to managing to shape the building that today we can contemplate. In Davalillos they are given lots of mentions the whole series of constructive singularities that, as if about a riddle they were treating each other, provoke the whole series of questions of difficult answers before the absence of textual and / or archaeological information.

In short, Davalillos de San Asensio fortress, which well could have got up in the Xlllth century, is, for his architectural elements, one of the most beautiful examples of defensive medieval architecture of the Hispanic perspective.
