  Este artículo examina cómo fueron cubiertas por la prensa las movilizaciones de los estudiantes secundarios, ocurridas en Chile el año 2006, desde la perspectiva de la teoría de la agenda-setting. El análisis se centra en la revisión de la cobertura de los diarios populares La Cuarta y Las Últimas Noticias durante las protestas, concentrándose en cómo fue presentado el conflicto y sus principales protagonistas en las portadas y otros elementos prominentes como titulares y editoriales. Los resultados sugieren un cambio en el framing de las protestas estudiantiles y una muy posible relación entre la cobertura y varios aspectos relevantes de la teoría de Maxwell McCombs.

  This paper examines how the Chilean press covered the 2006 student s protests in the country, according the Agenda-Setting theory. It analyses the coverage of the Chilean popular newspapers Las Últimas Noticias and La Cuarta during the protests, focusing on how the conflict and its main pro­tagonists were portrayed on their front-pages and other prominent elements such as headlines, editorials and op-ed. The findings suggest a change of the framing on the student s protests and a close relationship between the coverage and relevant aspects of McCombs theory.
