In this paper we explain the methodology followed for Mapping GeoMorphoPedologic Units in Los Alcornocales Natural Park and its environment (9 maps, S 1:50.000; Paneque et al., 1998), carried out by an agreement of collaboration signed between the Regional Ministry for the Environment of Andalusia and the Department of Agricultural Chemistry of the University of Seville. By photointerpretation of aerial photographs and satellite images, we defined map units, which were described geomorphologically and pedologically. Finally, we obtained 521 different geomorphopedological units (GMPU) and 61 types of soil-associations. A computer database was made, where each GMPU is characterized by 10 different variables, including lithology, slope, soil, active geomorphic processes and others.
