    Desde una óptica psicoanalítica, la identidad sexual es una construcción inconsciente. En el caso de la sexualidad femenina, el vínculo madre hija es fundamental. Lacan habló del "estrago" refiriéndose al arrancamiento que debe hacer la hija de la madre para acceder a la feminidad. La feminidad sólo puede ser definida como una interrelación entre el inconsciente y la cultura. Los nuevos tiempos están haciendo surgir un nuevo tipo de mujer y con ella, nuevos conflictos y síntomas.

    From a psychoanalytic point of view, the sexual identity is an unconscious construction. In relation with the feminine sexuality, the bond between mother and daughter is fundamental. To develop the femininity, the daughter has to pull herself away from her mother. Lacan named this process as "the ravage". In addition, the femininity only can be defined as an interrelationship between the Unconscious and the culture. On the other hand, the new times are making arise a new kind of woman with new conflicts and symptoms.
