Resumen de Diferencias en los prejuicios frente a la homosexualidad masculina en tres rangos de edad en una muestra de hombres y mujeres heterosexuales

  Los prejuicios de los heterosexuales frente a la homosexualidad han venido cambiando positivamente a través del tiempo. La presente investigación comparó los prejuicios que personas heterosexuales poseen frente a la homosexualidad masculina en tres etapas del desarrollo psicosocial (Erikson, 1963). Para la recolección de datos se diseñó un cuestionario con respuesta dicotómica, el cual fue sometido a jueces expertos para evaluar su validez II de contenido. El instrumento se construyó con base en tres de las cuatro dimensiones de la Escala de Actitudes hacia la Homosexualidad (Barra, 2002). Los participantes fueron 240 voluntarios, distribuidos en tres grupos de acuerdo con las etapas psicosociales del desarrollo (Erikson, 1963): 80 en la etapa de adultez temprana -entre 18 y 30 años-; 80 en la etapa de adultez media -entre 31 y 55 años- y, 80 en la etapa de adultez tardía -56 años en adelante-. Cada grupo fue conformado por 40 hombres y 40 mujeres. Los resultados sugieren que a mayor etapa del desarrollo, mayor tasa de actitudes y creencias negativas hacia la población homosexual masculina. Sin embargo, investigaciones de corte empírico son necesarias para incrementar el conocimiento en esta área.

  Prejudices attitudes and beliefs of heterosexual people towards male homosexuality have been changing positively over the years. This investigation compared prejudices attitudes and beliefs of heterosexual people towards homosexual men at three different age ranges of development. A questionnaire with dichotomous answers was designed for the purpose of this study. The content validity of the questionnaire was evaluated by expert judges in the area. The instrument was constructed, based on three of the four dimensions of the "Escala de actitudes hacia la homosexualidad" (Barra, 2002). The participants were 240 volunteers who were distributed in three groups according to their age developmental stage: in the young adulthood group there were 80 participants between 18-30 years of age (40 men and 40 women); in the adulthood group there were 80 participants between 31-55 years of age (40 men and 40 women), and in the senior group there were 80 participants 56 up (40 men and 40 women). The results suggested that the higher the psychosocial stage, the higher the negative attitudes and beliefs of heterosexual people towards the male homosexual population
