Resumen de Reflexiones sobre el lenguaje científico: algunos ejemplos de Geología

En este artículo se proponen algunas ideas sobre el lenguaje científico que pueden resultar útiles para los profesores de ciencias: las diferencias entre el lenguaje científico y el lenguaje cotidiano, la posibilidad de utilizar los mismos términos en diferentes disciplinas científicas.
En primer lugar mostraré la capacidad de adaptación de los términos científicos (tomando como ejemplo el de cristal), característica que tiene en común con el lenguaje natural. Veremos a continuación que esta adaptabilidad está condicionada al discurso global propio de un grupo disciplinar. Por ello, es difícil generalizar cómo y cuando es posible utilizar determinados términos para conectar disciplinas diferentes.
Como conclusión ofreceré algunas reflexiones encaminadas a un uso más eficaz del lenguaje en la enseñanza de las ciencias.

In this article some ideas are proposed about scientific language, which can be ueseful for science teachers: the differences between everyday language and scientific language and the differences between scientific disciplines (and their languages) and the possibility or desirability of ai scientific and linguistic. I will develop these points first by showing the adaptability of scientific terms (for example, that of crystal) demonstrating a characteristic which is commun to normal language. But we shall now examine the limitation of this adaptability, which is always conditioned to the global discourse of a discipline. Therefore it is difficult to generalise on how and when cretain terms can be used to connect different disciplines. In conclusion I offer some reflections aimed at a more efficient use of language in teaching science.
