Formacion de maestros en el Departamento de Nariño

    En las primeras décadas del siglo XX la preparación de maestras y maestros para las escuelas primarias del Departamento de Nariño -sur de Colombia-, estuvo a cargo de la Escuela Normal de Institutoras la cual inició labores en 1906 y de la Escuela Normal de Institutores creada en 1911. Cerradas al iniciar el período de gobiernos liberales, sólo la de varones fue reemplazada por la Gran Normal de Occidente. Las dos instituciones fueron organizadas y dirigidas de acuerdo a los fundamentos y normas establecidos por el proyecto educativo conservador para la formación de maestros en el país. El texto explora el estilo pedagógico que desarrollaron las dos instituciones, así como las diferencias establecidas por el proyecto según el género de los estudiantes.

    During the first decades of XXth Century, the instruction of school teachers in the region of Nariño, south of Colombia, was on charge of the Normal School of Female Institutors, created in 1906, and of the Normal School of Male Institutors, created in 1911. Both of them were closed during the beginning of the Liberal government period, but only the male institution was replaced later by a new one, called the Great Occident's Normal. The two entities were organized and directed according to the norms and fundaments established by the Conservative Party's educational project, designed to train national teachers. The text explores the pedagogic style developed by both institutions, as also, the different traits established, by the project according to students gender.
