    Extremadura ha sido una región olvidada, abandonada durante mucho tiempo, un lugar virgen, dotada de una belleza natural y hasta salvaje en su paisaje rústico que ha sufrido la carencia de todo lo que haya significado progreso. En el siglo XX, empieza a despertar el sentir de los extremeños, expresando el deseo de cambio de muchas realidades perentorias. En el presente estudio, recopilo un antiguo proyecto (1904), sobre los ferrocarriles secundarios en Extremadura, proyecto que fomentaría el desarrollo de la gran riqueza agrícola, ganadera y minera de la región, así como el acercamiento de importantes pueblos incomunicados, a la red general de ferrocarriles, y el de sus productos a los puertos de Lisboa y Sevilla

    Extremadura has been a forgotten region, abandoned for a long time, endowed with a natural and even wild beauty all over its countryside but it has suffered the lack ness of everything meaning progress. In the XX the century, the awareness of the people from this region begins to wake up, expressing the longing for a change in many long lasting realities. On this present research, I¿m collecting an old project of 1904 about the secondary railways in Extremadura; this project ward chartreuse to the development of the agriculture, the livestock farming and also the mining companies in the region, as well as to bring important but poorly communicated villages and their products closer to the general government railways and connect them with the ports in Lisboa end Sevilla.
