    En cuanto a la estructura literaria de Éxodo 6:2-8, P. Auffret esgrime que la peregrinación de los patriarcas en Canaan y la esclavitud en Egipto constituyen los impedimentos de la realización del pacto y el eje sobre el cual se mueve la pericopa; por otro lado, J. Magonet plantea el tema de la redención como el fulcro de todo el pasaje. Contrariamente, según la sintaxis de los verbos hebreos, se propone en este estudio que la identidad del 'YO SOY YHWH' es el motivo cardinal y dominante de Éxodo 6:2-9. En el periodo patriarcal, se emplea el epíteto EL SHADDAI para ratificar las promesas del pacto cuando su cumplimiento se vio amenazado por circunstancias diversas. Ahora, con Moisés y los hijos de Israel esas promesas se cristalizan en actos de redención, filiación y heredamiento bajo un propósito final: conocer a YHWH en una nueva dimensión de su naturaleza, como cumplidor de su palabra imperecedera.

    P. Auffret argues concerning the literary structure of Exodus 6:2-8 that the pilgrimage of the patriarchs in Canaan and the slavery in Egypt constitute the impediments of the fulfillment of the covenant and the central theme around which the passage is built. On the other hand, J. Magonet proposes that the idea of redemption be considered as the fulcrum of the whole pericope. On the contrary, based upon a careful analysis of the syntax of the Hebrew verbs, it is suggested in this study that the identity of the 'I AM YHWH' should be seen as the dominant motif of Exodus 6:2-9. In the patriarchal period the epithet EL SHADDAI was used to confirm the promises of the covenant when their fulfillment was threatened by diverse circumstances. Now, with Moses and the Israelites, those promises crystallize into acts of redemption, adoption, and inheritance under a final purpose: to know YHWH in a new dimension of his nature, as the fulfiller of his everlasting word.
