    La tesis central de este ensayo examina las tentativas que las tres religiones monoteístas universales, especialmente el cristianismo actual, están llevando a cabo para la recuperación del cuerpo. La contradicción alma-cuerpo, carne-espíritu, que ha marcado duramente sobre todo al cristianismo medieval, se encuentra hoy diluida, si bien no resuelta, a través del reconocimiento de la complejidad de la naturaleza humana, que es al mismo tiempo histórica y metahistórica, o sea es histórica, pero no en el sentido del historicismo absoluto.

    La misma identidad tiene necesidad, para conocerse a sí misma, de la alteridad. Esto significa que vivir quiere decir convivir.

    The central thesis of this essay examines the attempts being made by the three universal monotheistic religions, particularly Christianity, for the body recovery. The soul-body, flesh-spirit contradiction that heavily marked mainly medieval Christianity is being diluted, but not solved, through recognition of the complexity of human nature, which is at the same time historical and metahistorical, that is, it is historical, but not in the sense of absolute historicism. To get to know itself, identity itself has the need of otherness. This means that living means living together.
