Resumen de La épica medieval en la literatura actual de Alemania, Austria y Suiza: las sorpresas de la reactualización

Desde los años setenta se detecta en la literatura de los países germanohablantes un extendido interés por recuperar elementos y motivos de la novela medieval, histórica o mítica, singularmente de la artúrica. Escritores como Kühn, Dorst, Ch. Hein, A. Muschg o Torberg han publicado imitaciones o adaptaciones de una novelística, la caballeresca, que introdujo en suelo alemán modos civilizatorios y artísticos nuevos (el modelo es Chrestien de Troyes). Y aquí se plantean problemas muy vivos para una comparatística sensible, puesto que estamos ante una recuperación de lo que ya es imitación, ante una doble flexión, por tanto. E intentamos conjeturar hipótesis sobre las causas de estas actualizaciones paródicas o irónicas (en novela, teatro, biografia e incluso en la reedición). ¿Son otra manifestación del collage o el fragmento tan característicos de la modernidad?, ¿o responden a necesidades más profundas de la época?

Since the seventies, in the literature of german speaking countries, we perceive a widespread interest to recuperate elements and notions of the medieval, mythical or historical novel, particularly the Arthuric one. Writers such as Kühn, Dorst, Ch. Hein, A. Muschg or Torberg have published imitations or adaptations of a certain type of novel, the chivalrous one, which introduced into the German literature new civilized and artistic modes (the model is Chrestien of Troyes). And here it poses current vivid problems for a sensitive comparative analysis due to the fact that we are dealing with a repetition of what is already an adaptation. In the present paper we try to put forward some hypothesis about the reasons for these parodistic and ironical actualizations (in novel, theatre, biography, or even in the re-edition). Are these another manifestation of the collage or of the fragment so characteristic of modernity?, or do they respond to deeper needs of the time?
