La representación fotográfica del cine en Blanco y Negro y ABC (1903-1939)

    La implantación del cinematógrafo en España tuvo un desarrollo desigual. Desde que el nuevo invento se mostrase por vez primera en 1896, hasta que se asentara definitivamente como tipo de ocio popular, hubieron de pasar varias décadas de adaptación, de organización y de ajuste a una sociedad que, a pesar de las veleidades del descubrimiento científico de los hermanos Lumière, vio con escepticismo sus futuros usos en el ámbito del entretenimiento. Para estudiar su constitución como tipo de ocio en la sociedad española, y el alcance de su difusión social, analizaremos la presencia que el cinematógrafo obtuvo dentro de la prensa española, más concretamente,... (Leer más) la presencia fotográfica que el evento cinematográfico alcanzó dentro del semanario ilustrado Blanco y Negro y del periódico diario ABC. El motivo por el que se ha escogido tal binomio es sencillo, ambas publicaciones representan el primer intento de prensa periódica con primacía absoluta de la imagen. Esta preeminencia de la ilustración nos dará la pauta a seguir respecto a aquello que atraía para sí mayor grado de atención de los medios, pudiendo calibrar hasta qué punto el cinematógrafo representaba un fenómeno destacable dentro de la atención mediática o si, por el contrario, pasaba desapercibido dentro del universo periodístico y social.

    The introduction of the Cinema in Spain had an irregular development. Since the new invention was shown for the first time in 1896, until it was turned into a popular entertainment, it suffered several adjustments, in order to adapt itself to a Society that, despite its good qualities, was sceptical about the uses of the scientific discovery of the Lumière Brothers in the Entertainment Field. For studying its establishment into the Leisure Culture and the implications of its social diffusion, we are going to analyze the photographic presence of the Cinema into the Spanish Press, especially into the weekly magazine Blanco y Negro and into the daily... (Leer más) newspaper ABC. We have chosen this couple because they both symbolize the first attempt into the Periodical to give supremacy to the image. This graphic pre-eminence will show us what the Press paid attention to, and if the Cinema was a remarkable phenomenon for the Media attention, or if it went unnoticed for the journalistic and social universe.
