  • Resumen
    • The paragraph is one of the most -if not the most- important units in writing. It forms the basis for compositions, dissertations, chapters, and even whole books. Yet many students are unaware of how good paragraphs are constructed, and text books, even those devoted to the art of composition writing, don't treat this point at all, or else give vague and often summary explanations. This article looks at the different and often conflicting descriptions of the paragraph, the suitable length for same, how it should be structured, the different rhetorical and cohesive devices that hold it together and the most important types of paragraph.
