  • In 1993 we are going to celebrate the first anniversary of J. Zorrilla's death. The author of this article thinks that this would be an interesting date to write about Zorrilla's stay in London. He visited England twice. There he met R. Losada, a well known clockmaker (he built the "Reloj de la Puerta del Sol"). Zorrilla wrote a poem Una repetición de Losada dedicated to him. From Southampton our poet sailed to México on an English boat with an English crew.

    He talks many times about London (its landscape, houses ...) and about English people (their customs, religion, politics ...) in his poems and letters.
