Revisión y análisis, mediante hechos culturales plásticos y artistas, para dejar de manifiesto la inexistencia en Canarias de escuelas de arte. Se han estudiado todos los movimientos de arte y grupos de artistas que han tenido su presencia activa a lo largo del siglo XX, y en ninguno de ellos se han encontrado indicios teóricos, conceptuales, iconográficos o estilos que hayan dado identidad al arte canario. Sí ha habido un cualitativo nivel en las vanguardias artísticas y en paralelo con el arte peninsular e internacional.

Review and analysis, by means of cultural plastic facts and artists, to express the non-existence of schools of art in the Canaries. There have been studied all the movements of art and groups of artists who have had their active presence along the 20th century, and in none of them they have found theoretical, conceptual, iconographic indications or styles that have given identity to the Canary art. There has been a qualitative level in the artistic forefronts and in parallel with the peninsular and international art.
