    En este artículo, el texto ¿más que un objeto material? representa un juego dialéctico entre espacios blancos y negros, donde es posible leer no sólo palabras y frases, sino sobre todo sentidos y prácticas. Asimismo, los textos aquí analizados suponen usos y representaciones de individuos y colectividades que dan sentido a una época. En esta perspectiva, considerar los vínculos que han existido en el pasado entre textos y sujetos significa abrir la puerta a muchas posibilidades. En el presente escrito se da seguimiento sólo a una de ellas. Los hilos conductores del artículo son las tensiones que se experimentaron entre textos y lectores en la ciudad de Zacatecas durante el siglo XVIII. Con ello, se advierten las persistencias y transformaciones que han sufrido algunas prácticas de lo escrito en esta localidad.

    In this essay, texts ¿more than material objects¿ represent a dialectical game between black and white spaces; it is possible to read beyond words and sentences, to understand mainly meanings and experiences. Likewise, the documents herein studied represent customs and expressions of individuals and communities which give sense to an era. In perspective, the evaluation of the links between people and written materials from the past opens a door to many possibilities. In this essay we study just one of them. All the tensions readers experienced from 18th century documents in Zacatecas are leading lines of this essay, so that we can be aware of the endurance of some of the customs described or the transformations they suffered throughout time.
