La tutoría en la Universidad de Vigo según la opinión de los profesores

    Actualmente la Universidad de Vigo, igual que las españolas y las de la Unión Europea, se encuentra inmersa en el proceso de convergencia con el objeto de construir un Sistema Europeo de Educación Superior. Este proceso implica transformaciones para mejorar el servicio que la institución presta a la sociedad a través de la formación de los estudiantes. En definitiva, se trataría de mejorar la calidad y, a través de ella, alcanzar la excelencia.

    Entre las transformaciones que es necesario realizar ocupa un lugar destacado el papel del profesorado, en el sentido de focalizarse como facilitador del aprendizaje. Para ello, entre las funciones docentes, la tutoría alcanza un papel trascendental y llega a convertirse en un servicio esencial que la Universidad presta. Esto implica la necesidad de la transformación del papel del profesorado, tradicionalmente entendido más como dispensador de conocimientos que como orientador en la búsqueda del mismo.

    Será en este contexto donde adquiere sentido y utilidad el presente trabajo. Su objetivo consiste en conocer/diagnosticar, en base a las opiniones de los profesores, el desempeño, la situación real, de la función tutorial en la Universidad de Vigo y, en su caso, hacer propuestas de mejora. Para dar respuesta a este objetivo hemos planteado una investigación descriptivo-transversal-comparativa de tipo cuantitativo.

    At the moment the University of Vigo, the same as the Spaniards and those of the European Union, she/he is depth in the convergence process in order to building a European System of Superior Education. This process implies transformations to improve the service that the institution ready to the society through the formation of the students. In definitive, it would be to improve the quality and, through her, to reach the excellence.

    Among the transformations that it is necessary to carry out squatter an outstanding place the faculty¿s role, in the focused sense like facilitator of the learning of the students. For it, among the educational functions, the tutorship reaches a momentous role and she/he ends up becoming an essential service that the University ready to the students. This implies the necessity of the transformation of the faculty¿s role.

    It will be in this context where she/he acquires sense and utility the present work. Their objective consists on knowing/diagnosed, based on the opinions of the professors, the performance, the real situation, of the function tutorial in the University of Vigo, and, in its case, to make proposals of improvement. To give answer to this objective we have outlined a descriptive-traverse-comparative investigation of quantitative type.
