The modem studies of history have considered that Maximus, usurper in Hispania in the years 410-412, was the protagonist of a second uprising against those in legitimate power about years 418-422, maybe with the support of vandals placed in the north-west of Hispania. In this article, I pretend to show that such second usurpation did not happen, with the help of the research of sources concerning this subject and a precise historical context.
