  Este artículo analiza la obra de Alicia Urreta, Salmodia I para piano (1971). Los factores que se señalan como unificadores del proceso temporal no se consideran automáticamente suficientes. Al contrario, el presente estudio examina los marcos metodológicos que permiten descubrir, clasificar y valorar la función de dichos factores dentro del proceso atonal de la obra. La coherencia armónica de Salmodia I -y en particular la manera de revelar y explicar dicha coherencia- sirve como punto de partida para reflexionar sobre la correlación entre los métodos analíticos, la percepción auditiva y la valoración estética de la obra. Desde un punto de vista analítico, el propósito de este trabajo es triple: señalar los factores que unifican la pieza, definir el sentido de devenir que comunica y justificar la proporción y finalidad de las partes que la integran.

  This article presents an analysis of Urreta's Salmodia I for piano solo (1971). The elements indicated as unifiers of the temporal process are not automatically deemed sufficient. On the contrary, this study examines the methodologies that allow a researcher to find, classify and value the functions of those elements within the atonal framework of the piece. The harmonic coherence of Salmodia I -and especially the way in which this coherence can be discovered and explained- is used as the basis to examine the correlation between the distinct analytical methods, the auditory perception, and the aesthetic appreciation of the work. From an analytical point of view, the purpose of this paper is threefold: to identify the factors that unify the piece, to define how the piece conveys a sense of motion and temporality, and to justify the proportion and purpose of its composite parts.
