    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo ofrecer una serie de estimaciones sobre las necesidades logísticas del ejército romano acantonado en las Galias durante el s. IV d C. A partir de toda una serie de evidencias directas e indirectas ofrecemos una visión de conjunto, que no debe tomarse en momento alguno como absoluto, sobre las necesidades de alimentos y forraje de este cuerpo de ejército imperial. Hay que destacar también que el buen funcionamiento del sistema hasta el colapso definitivo de la frontera del Rin a lo largo del s. V d. C. es indice de la experiencia y pericia en la gestión de grandes cantidades de abastecimientos que había alcanzado el Estado romano desde los inicios de la época altoimperial.

    This paper tries to offer a series of estimates about logistical necessities of the Roman army quartered in Galia during the fourth century AD. Beginning from an entire series of direct and indirect evidences we offer an overview, that should not be taken as absolute, on the necessities of food and forage of this imperial army corps. It is necesarry also to highlight that the correct working of this system until the definitive collpse of the Rhine frontier in the fitht century AD it´s a proof of the experience in the administration of big quantities of supplies that had reached the Roman State from the beginnings of the High Empire.
