During the XVth century the catedral of León had a great sculptoric activity in order to complete its constructive process. This activity was developed in three different periods.
The first one, although with limited results, was extended between 1400 and 1440 more or less. During this period the Burgundian influence was clear in sculptures such the image of Saint Catherine in the Museum or the Virgin in the old altarpiece.
The second one, around the middle of the century, was dominated by Master Jusquín and it had some works like the statues of Saint John the Baptist and the Saviour in the West portal, the tomb of Juan de Grajal or the relief of Alonso de Getino.
The third one, in the second half of the century, was marked by the Flemish influence, with works -the choir stalls or the sculptures of the old library- that extended their influence beyond the León area.
