Frecuentación en nuestra área de urgencias

    Objetivo/Método: Se ha realizado un estudio prospectivo de los pacientes recibidos en el área de urgencias de oftalmología del HMI de Las Palmas durante 12 meses, con un total de 903 pacientes atendidos. De cada paciente se han recogido los siguientes datos: fecha, día de la semana (laborable, víspera, festivo), hora, sexo, edad, patología y necesidad o no de ingreso.

    Resultados/Conclusiones: En cuanto a las consultas, en los meses de julio, agosto y septiembre se ha recibido un 31 % del total de pacientes, el 37% acudió en festivos y vísperas y el 80% acudió en horario de mañana o tarde. En cuanto a los pacientes el 55,14% eran varones, el grupo mayoritario era de edades entre los 20 y 40 años, la patología traumática ha sido la más frecuente (40%) y sólo un 6,9 % ha requerido ingreso.

    Objective/Method: During 12 months we have undertaken a prospective study of the 903 patients assisted in ophthalmic emergencies in the HMI of Las Palmas. The observation has been focused on the following data: date, day of the week (working day, public holiday or day before a public holiday), time, sex, age, pathology and if the patient was to be admited or not.

    Results/Conclusions: In relation with the moment of the visit, in July, August and September we received 31 % patients, 37% attended on public holidays or the day before them and 80% were seen during the morning or afternoon shift. In relation with the patients themselves, 55.14% were male, most of them were between 20 and 40 years old, 40% came to us because of traumatic pathologies and only 6.9 % had to be admitted.
