The required conditions for germination and the resistance to high temperatures of Genista scorpius seeds were studied. Seeds were collected at Cal Parisa basin (Valicebre), a forestry and grazing area of Bergueda (Barcelona). The observed results showed that the seeds presented total dormancy, superaNe by scarificatiorL It is recommendable to put seeds under stratification, for at least three months, in order to break a slight embryo dormancy. Seed germination was strongly reduced by high temperatures (?.:100 °C) as the exposition time increased.
