  La importancia alcanzada por la Comisión de Millones en la Corona de Castilla a final del siglo XVII, dejó en un segundo plano las Cortes y coartó su evolución institucional. La sucesión de Carlos II demostró hasta qué punto había llegado la atrofia de las instituciones representativas castellanas. Entonces la posible convocatoria de las Cortes de Castilla fue un instrumento táctico más utilizado por las facciones en liza para favorecer su causa, pero nunca se planteó como una cuestión sustantiva y de consecuencias políticas decisivas.

  The importance reached by the �Commission of Millions� in the Castilian Crown at the end of the 17th century, left in background the Cortes and limited its institutional evolution. The succession of Carlos II demonstrated to what extent the atrophy had reached the Castilian representative institutions. The possible call of Cortes of Castile was then just another tactical instrument used by the opposing factions to favor their cause, but it was never considered as a substantive question with decisive political consequences.
