    The choice of spouse has direct consequences on the distribution, structure and heterogeneity of a population�s gene heritage.

    To verify the existence of a certain degree of continuity in matrimonial behaviour from one generation to the next (generation of the studied couples and generation of their parents), intergenerational comparisons of homogamy in the were made using data by prospective study in the service of Maternity and Gynaecology of the Hospital Cherif Idrissi to Kénitra (Morocco) Between June 2003 and February 2004.

    Homogamy among 106 couples who married between 1977 and 2003 was compared to that seen among their parents and various types of homogamy were measured in this study.

    The results show quite marked homogamous behaviour.

    Le choix du conjoint a des conséquences directes sur la répartition, la structure et l¿hétérogénéité du patrimoine génétique d¿une population.

    Afin de vérifier l¿existence d¿une certaine continuité dans les comportements matrimoniaux d¿une génération à l¿autre (génération des couples étudiés et génération de leurs parents), des comparaisons intergénérationnelles de l¿homogamie ont été établies à partir de données tirées d¿une étude prospective de cohorte conduite dans le service de Maternité et Gynécologie de l¿Hôpital Cherif Idrissi à Kénitra (Maroc) entre juin 2003 et février 2004.

    Dans cette étude, l¿homogamie de 106 couples formés entre 1977 et 2003 a été comparée à celle de leurs parents et divers types d¿homogamie ont été mesurés.

    Les résultats révèlent des comportements homogames assez prononcés.
