    El autor presenta un estudio sobre la evolución histórica y desarrollo del turismo en Sicilia. Presenta un programa de actividades dirigida al fomento de y promoción de la isla en la cual se señala la cooperación que se debe de llevar a cabo tanto por parte del sector público como privado.

    The study presents a program of activities in behalf of Sicilian tourism developmen indicating its extent and pointing out the possibilities for those who may intent a cooperation in the said program as much in the public sector, as in the private. Equelly the author evolves a historical study of tourist develapment in the island.

    The quotations pointed out on the tourist activités in course proofs that there is something in Sicily which exists and goes in a correct way or else what comes to be the same the fact that the engagement of the tourist forces underwent a singular urge in the evolution of the tourist-hostel industry and in the evaluation of the natural, artistic historical and monumental attractions abundant in the island.

    The study is divided in the following main chapters: from the origins to world war second, the reconstruction, the «assesorato régionale al turismo», the advertising the satatements, prospects of tourism in the island, on the development of hostel industry, tourist movement in 1970, success of «charter» formula E.I.T., new regional plan for works of tourist interest and different notes of legal concern.
