Los desastres naturales y el riesgo de Tsunamis.: el Tsunami de Indonesia del 26 de diciembre de 2004

    Uno de los riesgos naturales más terribles en razón de su inevitabilidad y por los efectos catastróficos que produce, son los tsunamis, que aunque no son muy frecuentes, cuando se producen arrasan y destruyen todo lo que encuentran a su paso. La existencia de un sistema de alerta y de aviso se convierte en este caso en una necesidad de primer orden y la falta del mismo se traduce en unas consecuencias devastadoras. El Tsunami producido el pasado 26 de diciembre de 2004 en Indonesia es un buen ejemplo de esta última situación. En el presente artículo presentamos las características de este Tsunami y sus daños y efectos, así como las medidas, que a raíz del mismo se están tomando

    One of the more terrible natural hazards due to the impossibility of preventing them and the catastrophic effects that cause, is the tsunamis, which even though they are not frequent, when they happen they destroy all they find in their way. The existence of a warning system becomes a necessity of first rate in this case and the lack of it results in some devastating consequences. The Tsunami that took place on the past 26 of December of 2004 in Indonesia it's a good example of this situation. In the present article we show the characteristics of this Tsunami and its damages and effects, as well as the measures that, as a result, are being taken.
