Aportación al estudio geográfico de un barrio nuevo: "El Polígono de la Paz" (Granada)

    The residential community called "La Paz" was the first great experience of urbanistic planification carried out in Granada by offical organs in collaboration with private initiative. The object was to control and direct the urban development of the city in a rational way. It is located to the north of the old city, included 80 H. and is planned to house 28,000 inhabitants. During the work, and because of joint reasons, the first populating was effected with families of the local subproletariate. This fact produced classist tension and rejection from other social sectors. The problems which carne up gave cause for a restructurization of what had been planned and a change of the physical space in socially divided and differentiated zones. A demographic and social study clearly shows that there is a serious situation of marginality compared with the rest of the city. This is shown by the human, labor, cultural, social and religious deterioration of its residents.     Le polygone residentiel "La Paz" a eté la première expérience de planification urbaine realisée a Grenade, par des organismes de l'état en collaboration avec l'initiative privée, l'objet prevu était de controler et diriger rationnellement le developpement urbain de la ville. Situé au Nord de L'ancien noyau urbain, il comprend une extension de 80 ha, où on compte loger 28.000 habitants. Le projet étant en cours, pour raison de nécessités impérieuses, on installa les premiéres familles qui provenaient du sub prolétariat local. Ce fait a produit des tensions classistes parmi les autres secteurs sociaux. Les problèmes qui ont surgi, ont obligé à une structuration nouvelle, ainsi qu'au changement de l'espace intérieur en secteurs socialments séparés. L'étude démografique et sociale montre une situation très grave de margination par rapport au reste de la ville. De plus les services collectifs nécessaires à la vie urbaine sont en grand retard sur l'installation du peuplement.
